Past Perfect Tense
जिन वाक्यों के अंत में क्रिया के साथ ‘चुका था, चुकी थी, चुके थे’ आते हैं, वे Sentences ‘Past Perfect Tense’ में आते हैं। यह अतीत में किसी अन्य क्रिया से पहले समाप्त हो चुकी क्रियाओं के लिए प्रयुक्त होता है।
जैसे: जब मैं पहुंचा, वह जा चुका था।, मैंने अपना होमवर्क पूरा कर लिया था।
Formulas:
- Affirmative: Subject + had + V3 (past participle) + object.
- Negative: Subject + had not + V3 + object.
- Interrogative: Had + subject + V3 + object?
- Int. Neg.: Had + subject + not + V3 + object?
- Wh-word Interrogative: Wh-word + had + subject + V3 + object?
- Wh-word Int. Neg.: Wh-word + had + subject + not + V3 + object?
