I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to express my concern over the inadequate street lighting in and around the Sunshine Apartments area, where I reside. The lack of sufficient and functional street lights has raised serious safety and security concerns among the residents, especially during the evening and night hours.
Over the past few months, several sections of the main road and adjoining lanes leading to our residential complex have been enveloped in darkness after sunset due to non-functional or insufficient lighting. This situation has not only made it difficult for residents to navigate these areas safely but has also heightened the risk of accidents and encouraged anti-social activities, including theft and vandalism.
Despite previous verbal complaints to the local ward office, the issue persists without any noticeable improvement, compelling me to seek your intervention to address this matter urgently.
Therefore, I kindly request the Vadodara Municipal Corporation to:
1. Conduct a comprehensive survey of the street lighting in the Sunshine Apartments area to identify and repair non-functional lights.
2. Install additional street lights in poorly lit sections to ensure adequate illumination throughout the area.
3. Implement regular maintenance checks to prevent future lapses in street lighting functionality.
Ensuring well-lit streets is crucial for the safety and security of the residents and contributes to the overall well-being of the community. I trust that the Vadodara Municipal Corporation will take swift action to rectify this issue and restore the residents’ confidence in their safety during the night.
