Subject: Complaint Regarding Poor Cleanliness Standards in Trains
Dear Sir/Madam,
I hope this letter finds you in good health. I am writing to bring to your immediate attention the concerning state of cleanliness and hygiene in the trains operated by the North Western Railway, specifically those running through Jaipur.
Having traveled recently on Train No. 12345 (Jaipur to Delhi Express) on May 25, 2024, I was appalled by the conditions inside the coaches. The washrooms were not only unclean but also lacked basic amenities like soap and running water, making it impossible for passengers to maintain personal hygiene during the journey. Furthermore, the seating areas and floors were littered with trash, and the foul smell permeating the coaches made the travel experience extremely unpleasant.
Such negligence towards maintaining cleanliness standards not only tarnishes the image of the Indian Railways but also poses significant health risks to passengers, especially in the context of the ongoing efforts to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
Therefore, I urge the North Western Railway to take the following actions:
1. Conduct a comprehensive review of the cleaning and maintenance schedules for trains, ensuring that all coaches are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized before and after each journey.
2. Ensure the availability of basic hygiene amenities in the washrooms, including soap, water, and toilet paper, across all trains.
3. Implement strict monitoring and accountability measures for the cleaning staff and contractors responsible for maintaining train cleanliness.
4. Initiate regular feedback mechanisms for passengers to report cleanliness and hygiene issues directly to the railway authorities for prompt action.
The Indian Railways has always been a source of pride for our nation, and I believe that by addressing these issues, we can significantly enhance the travel experience for all passengers while safeguarding their health and well-being.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I am hopeful for a swift response and the implementation of effective measures to improve the cleanliness standards in trains.
Sincerely,
Mohit Verma
