Subject: Urgent Complaint of Medical Negligence at City Government Hospital, New Delhi

Dear Honorable Minister,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am compelled to write to you under distressing circumstances concerning an incident of medical negligence at the City Government Hospital in New Delhi, which resulted in severe repercussions for my father, Mr. Rakesh Joshi, who was a patient there in April 2024.
My father was admitted to the hospital for what was initially diagnosed as a minor respiratory infection. However, due to a series of oversights and neglect by the medical staff assigned to his care, his condition deteriorated significantly over his stay. This includes a delayed response to his worsening symptoms, incorrect medication being administered, and a lack of proper monitoring and communication among the healthcare professionals involved.
Despite our repeated inquiries and requests for more attentive care, the gravity of his condition was not acknowledged until it was critically late, leading to an emergency situation that could have been avoided with proper medical attention and diligence. The consequences of this negligence have not only prolonged his recovery but have also inflicted unnecessary suffering and financial burden on our family.
It is with a heavy heart and a sense of duty to prevent such incidents from recurring that I urge the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to:
1. Conduct a thorough investigation into the practices at City Government Hospital, particularly concerning the treatment of Mr. Rakesh Joshi in April 2024.
2. Implement stricter monitoring and accountability measures for medical staff to ensure the highest standards of patient care and safety.
3. Review and reinforce the hospital’s protocols for responding to patient symptoms, medication administration, and staff communication.
Access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right, and it is distressing to witness such lapses in a government institution meant to uphold these values. I trust that under your leadership, immediate actions will be taken to address these serious concerns and to prevent such instances of negligence in the future.
Thank you for your attention to this critical matter. I am willing to provide further details if required and hope for a prompt and constructive response.
Sincerely,

Priya Joshi
Daughter of Mr. Rakesh Joshi
